About competition
Regulations of the “Direct Hit” International Open Contest for the best DM project
Objectives: Direct Hit Best DM-Project Contest (hereinafter referred to as «the Contest») is held to attract attention of direct marketing services customers to the authors of innovative projects; to encourage creative approach in communications; direct marketing industry development
Organizer: Ukrainian Direct Marketing Association (UDMA) and International Business Forum “Direct Marketing Days in Ukraine”
Terms of participation: only projects executed from January 2011 to March 2012 with the use of direct marketing tools and which did not previously take part in the Contest are accepted for participation in the Contest
Projects taking part in the Contest must be developed and implemented by the company representing them
The Contest participant is absolutely responsible for the information given in the brief and all the additional materials.
Participation in the Contest is paid. Entry fee is 100 EUR per entry (taxes inclusive).
Participation in the special nomination “Direct Marketing: Journalist’s View” is free of charge. Articles can be submitted to the Contest by a journalist personally, by editorial staff of the edition, by a reader. Article means a journalistic material in Russian or Ukrainian (2 to 40 thousand signs in Russian or Ukrainian).
Time of the Contest holding: 16 Jan 2012 – 26 april 2012. The public defence of the shortlisted projects and winners awards ceremony is held within International Business Forum “Direct Marketing Days in Ukraine”
Contest Jury: The Jury includes leading specialists and directors of direct marketing agencies, marketing services agencies, advertising agencies, internet media and digital agencies as well as the representatives of the companies, professional in marketing communications. Jury is headed by the President.
Jury member is not allowed to assess the entry if the project was created by his/her company or with his/her assistance.

Contest awards:

Grand Prix of Direct Hit International Open Contest:
awarded to the best project of the Contest and is selected by the majority of the Jury votes among the projects ranked the 1st in their categories.
Black Belt in Direct Marketing:
Awarded to the projects ranked the 1st in the Contest categories
The authors of the projects (developer companies) ranked the 2nd and the 3rd in their categories shall receive the corresponding Diplomas of Direct Hit International Open Contest.
“Competitor’s Recognition’: during a week after the short-list announcement all the Contest participants rank the other participants’ entries. The ranking is held at the Contest website (in the participant’s account). The best project according to these ranks is awarded with a “Competitor’s Recognition” special diploma.
Special Diplomas: may be awarded according to the Jury’s majority decision, but are now obligatory
- For originality
- For the best loyalty program
- For the best low budget campaign
- For the best advertising message text
- For the best design and polygraphy
“Best Article on Direct Marketing”: awarded to the author of the best in the opinion of the Jury article on direct marketing among those taking part in the Category “Direct Marketing: Journalist’s View”. The Jury members may also award special prizes: «best database article», «best loyalty system article», «best direct mail article», «best call-center and telemarketing article».
Authors of awarded journalistic works shall receive free-of-charge accreditation for the events of Direct Marketing Days in Ukraine.
Projects taking part in the open defence may be awarded with special diplomas and prizes of the partners and sponsors of Direct Marketing Days in Ukraine business forum
Contest evaluation stages:
Jury’s evaluation of the Contest entries is held in 2 stages: Pre-evaluation of the Contest entries and Public defence
Contest entries evaluation criteria:
- Distinction and innovation.
- Addressee motivation.
- Communicative scheme.
- Response registration system and database organization.
- Project Visuals.
Information Distribution:
Briefs and additional materials of the submitted entries are the property of Direct Hit Contest.
Information about the participants, their contacts, entries submitted to the Contest is open and can be distributed by the organizers, including commercial distribution.
Organizer is authorized to use the Contest entries with the aim of further “Direct Hit” Contest advertising and the participant allows this to the organizer.
Entries description can be used in media publications, www.dmdays.com.ua, www.directhit.com.ua websites publications to popularize “Direct Hit” Contest, “Direct Marketing Days in Ukraine” Business Forum and marketing services industry.
International open contest for the best direct marketing project “Direct Hit” is included into the rating of the Ukrainian Advertisement Coalition and Association of communication agencies of Russia.
